Do More of What Makes You Happy

Do More of What Makes You Happy

Just a quick reminder…

Do More of What Makes You Happy

It may not always be easy to find the time, but when you do you might feel a sense of balance in your life. I certainly feel that way about writing. That doesn’t mean I don’t get frustrated when a scene’s not coming together like I’d like it to, or angry if something’s upsetting me, but underneath writing still makes me happy.

Even other things – crafting, watercoloring, paper planning, etc – also make me happy. Paper planning is actually one way I de-stress and to help with my anxiety. Putting fun washi and stickers in a paper planner may not sound like a lot, but spending a few minutes here or there on it can make a huge difference for me.

There’s a book called Craft a Life You Love by Amy Tangerine. The book weaves short stories about Amy’s own life with simple exercises you can do to better understand what in your life is making you happy (and what isn’t) and how you can live a more intentional life. The exercises are great and I encourage people to pick up a copy if this is something you’re looking for. I’ve seen huge changes in my life, just by implementing some smaller changes here and there (The Power of Habit  by Charles Duhigg is another fantastic book that helped me here).

What things (big or small) make you happy? Comment on this post and let me know!
